Polyester & Nylon Screening
We supply polyester and nylon screening materials to aquaculture and research facilities around the world. Both types of screening are frequently used on the farm and in the laboratory. Polyester is generally preferred in applications where the screen will require periodic cleaning. It stands up to the scrubbing and mild chemical cleaning needed to remove fouling organisms from intake or outflow screens. Nylon screening is softer and less durable than polyester. It is more suitable for plankton nets and larval laboratory uses under less fouling conditions. Nylon is also better for certain chemical filtration uses outside of aquaculture, especially in the oil and gas industry
Polyester screen is available in mesh sizes from 10 to 5000 microns. Nylon screen mesh sizes range from as small as 1 microns on up to 1920 micron. The number after the slash mark (/) in the Item # refers to the percentage of open area woven into the material. The smaller amount of open area, the larger amount of area filled by screen material.
The sizes listed below are some of the more commonly requested screens. Other micron sizes or standard widths may be available. Please contact us for pricing and availability of any mesh sizes or diameters not listed. Other types of netting and screening are also available, such as polypropylene, high density polyethylene, and knotless nylon in a number of mesh sizes.
Large orders of a single size screen may be eligible for a discount. There is a minimum order of 2 linear yards per single mesh and width screen. Orders less than $150.00 will incur a $25.00 processing fee.
